Quick and Simple DIY Homemade Cleaners

How to Make Your Own Natural, Safe and Effective Cleaning Products

There’s a huge variety of cleaners promising different things. Believe us, as a cleaning company, we know! A quick look at the ingredient list and you will likely see numerous unpronounceable chemicals, artificial additives and scents or even toxicity warnings.

Disinfecting Spray Cleaner with excellent germ-killing properties

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups of water

  • 1/4 cup of white vinegar

    1/4 cup vodka (excellent germ-killing properties – you can substitute with rubbing alcohol )

  • 15 drops essential oil – peppermint + lemon OR lavender + lemon are great in this recipe

  • glass spray bottle 

Mix all ingredients on a measuring cup and pour into the glass spray bottle. Shake well before each use. Spray away and let it sit for 10 minutes to kill germs before wiping it off with a microfiber rag. No rinsing is required.

Excellent for: Bathrooms and Kitchens. To avoid cross-contamination, use separate colored cloths for separate areas.

Please note: Vinegar should not be used on granite or marble because the acid may etch the surface.  Below is a great recipe for granite or marble.


Granite & Marble Cleaning Spray

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups water

  • 3 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol

  • 1 teaspoon Castile or dish soap (if you want your spray to smell like your dish soap)

Mix ingredients in a measuring cup and pour into a glass spray bottle. Shake and spray away!


Glass & Window Cleaning Spray

After trial and error in using various cleaners for streak-free glass and mirrors, we now swear by this quick drying cleaning spray!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 tablespoon corn starch

  • 1/4 cup white vinegar

  • 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol

  • 3 drops peppermint or lemon essential oil

Mix in spray bottle, spray liberally on surface and wipe clean with a microfiber rag.
